For the boy with glasses:

Someone once said to Bob Ross "Bob, everything in your world seems to be so happy." Bob said "That's for sure. That's why I paint. I can create the kind of world that I want, and I can make this world as happy as I want it. Shoot, if you want bad stuff, watch the news"
So I spent 2 hours watching Joy of Painting just to see what he sees.
To see what made him so happy.
And I found with a divorce, three children, second wife turning him into a widower, night sweats, illness, and a whole lot of war induced nightmares- painting made him happy.
He became settled in this unsettling world with a paintbrush.

Bob Ross once told his viewers he paints landscapes to show the hidden secrets in them.
And when I see you I know what he means.

You have these roads and trails winding up and down your bones.
Landmarks that everyone recognizes but never takes the time to admire.
Broken down buildings that get taken for granted by "hipsters" needing their next Instagram posts.
You have this kind of smile that people have to look carefully at
to tell if they need to dress for rain or not.
There's canyons in the wrinkles of your hands and lakes forming depressions in your heart.
You have these mountains forming on your bones from the things you've seen,
There's mapping written on your veins, bleeding pathways to caves no one knows about.
It just takes a few paper cuts to find them.

I don't know how Bob Ross did it, and I don't know how you do it.
But man, do I wish I could be like that.
